...and baby makes three.

Last week, Joshua and I got to meet this little bundle of joy. Her name is Cami Ann and she is my good friend's daughter. It was such a blessing to watch such an amazing woman fit perfectly into the role of 'mother'. Over the past couple years we have had many conversations about men and babies, and words can not express how happy I am for her! You deserve everything, Leesha. I love you, mama!

Penny had her first bath this week! She was very hard to capture on camera, but I did my best!

She was not a huge fan of the water

This is my favorite, so hilarious!

I hope everyone had a great week! I must say, the way things are going right now...I love my life! TGIF =)

Photo Finish Friday

Who wants to see some cheesy pics of Josh & I?
I know you do, admit it.

Someone snapped this at Josh's birthday celebration, part one =)
It was blurry, so I picnik'd it.
With lyrics from a Seal song.
Hoo-rah.

His first cup of coffee after going a whopping 40 days without!
(but I'm not supposed to tell you this because you're not supposed to publicize Lent, so this'll be our little secret, k?) Isn't he cute in the morning? Love.

My fav pic from Josh's "almost" birthday celebration a couple weeks ago.
I forgot to upload them until now. He's 24,
Happy Birthday, Baby!

Friend Like You

I like the way you're not afraid,
you've got the world planned in your mind.
People say you can not do it,
but they don't know
a friend like you.

The girl you love has gone away,
still too young to know her heart.
She'll return, her love renewed,
she'll never find
a friend like you.

When I had no one to call,
all the world had shut me out.
I showed up at your door, so blue
thank God I had
a friend like you.

Anytime I've gone without
a home, a meal, a pair of shoes,
if you had three, you'd give me two,
Ain't no other
friend like you.

Photo Finish Friday

This week has been the week of John Mayer. Months ago, Joshua bought 4 tickets to his concert, and has been eagerly awaiting it ever since. One night this week, we were pulling up to Josh's apartment & he started playing me "Good Love is on the Way" by Mr. Mayer. After we parked I reached for the door handle and he stopped me. He asked me to listen to the song and told me he used to think of me when he would listen to it while he was in the service. I looked at him and asked, "You really mean it when you say cheesy stuff like that, don't ya?". He smiled. He really does.

Last night my sister & I went to the concert with Josh & his buddy from the Navy. Now, I'll be honest...I've never been much of a Mayer fan, but I think some artists are simply meant to be heard live. The man is a very literate musician, much of his music is based on textbook jazz chord changes and riffs, very easy on the ears. Katie & I had a blast and Josh & I slow danced to "Slow Dancing in a Burning Room" and annoyed all of the people around us with cheesy lovey dovey-ness. It was fabulous.

Here are a few pics from the concert....enjoy!

My little sis is the cutest thing ever, right?
After this pic, I decided it's time for a spray-tan. UV free is the way to be!

He's my best friend & the other "Half of my Heart"

Look how excited Joshua was!
He lives for John Mayer =)

Have a great weekend everybody!

Photo Finish.... Sunday?

I meant to post this on Friday...sorry, it's been a long week, y'all!

One of the things that bothers me about Valentine's Day is that men are pressured to go out and spend bunches of money on flowers and chocolates to prove their devotion & after a matter of days, the chocolates are gone and flowers are either already dead or have begun to wilt. Okay, so maybe the chocolates only last a couple hours, let's be honest, ladies. What exactly does this have to do with love? Love is temporary and throws off your diet for the week? I don't like it.

However, in the interest of full disclosure; I never turn down flowers...or chocolate! I have been waiting for my lovely bouquet to wilt, but it's been over a week now and despite spending most of Valentine's day in my car, sans water, these little darlings are still going strong! I'm horrible with green things, they usually suffer and die under my care, so it must be a sign. I can't wait to see God's plan for my future, and to see if there's a certain blue-eyed boxer by my side. (Did I tell you he boxes? Well, he does.)

Here are a few photos I snapped throughout the week:

Don't you just love it when the roses open up like this?
Another little reminder of God's handiwork.

Happy Weekend! (or, what's left of it.)

Songs: (don't worry...I left out the obvious "The Rose" by Bette Midler. You're welcome.)

"You Are the Best Thing" Ray Lamontagne
"Kiss From a Rose" Seal (I couldn't resist..I love Seal! By the way...how many of you think it's; "kissed by a rose on the grave"? It's not. "kissed by a rose on the gray". Look it up!)

Photo Finish Friday

Well...it was a close one, but I made it to Friday. Here are a few snapshots from my silly, stressful, wonderful week:

This one was taken by "Nice Guy #1" (remember him?) at Ramo's, my favorite little karaoke bar/pizza place on Tuesday night. I sang a little Whitney Houston, "I wanna dance with somebody" (of course!) and Roomie Jill (the smiling brunette in the pic) found an old trumpet hanging on the wall...can you tell why I love this place?

Funny story about this little guy: While leaving the karaoke joint, a man I'd never met before handed me a rose. I didn't think much of it, after all, it's Ramo's, of course a random man would buy me a bar flower! A few seconds later, an acquaintance of mine, who had been talking up my roommate all night, grabs the flower from my hand, and gives it to Jill. I guess he figured she wouldn't find out he had stolen it from her roommate. Men. Needless to say, she hasn't been answering his text messages this week. =)

And this, my darlings, is the comforter on my bed. Yes, it's satin. Yes, it's tacky, and yes, I love it! This is where I plan to spend a great deal of time this weekend. It's been another trying week for me and I have every intention of keeping my date with Mr. Sandman.

I hope you all had a great work week & are gearing up for a relaxing weekend with the ones you love! I, unfortunately, will be spending a great deal of mine working, but at least there's no schoolwork for me until Monday!

Photo Finish Friday

So did anyone get trampled to death today in order to grab the last pack of 99 cent Christmas lights? Black Friday is nutzo. I did order a new laptop (!) online at like 3 in the morning though, so I guess I technically participated. Hurray!

Anyways...here it is, a week (or so) in review, via my camera.
While browsing away at Target, I discovered a giant Christmas Tree ornament full of smaller Christmas Tree ornaments! I thought it was so fabulous, I ignored the fact that Christmas displays before Thanksgiving annoy me.
Fast forward to my little sister's 20th birthday. We had to drive to Council Bluffs, IA because she desperately wanted to see the Twilight movie...New Moon, (OMG Edward Cullen! He's so dreamy...oh wait...he's just some super skinny, pale, mediocre actor? Not impressed.) Tickets were all sold out everywhere around our city and surrounding areas, so we took a mini-roadtrip. This picture shows our frustration with the state of Iowa. In one night I locked my keys in the car, had to wait in line for an hour to sit in the 3rd row of a smelly movie theater, and we were then stranded for the night because an eerie fog descended upon the town immediately after the end credits rolled. Good times had by all, Happy Birthday, Sis, welcome to your twenties!
Which brings us to Thanksgiving. This is a picture of my favorite food of Thanksgiving,
Pumpkin Pie.
There's really nothing else to say except.....Mmmmmmmm. =)

I hope everyone had a splendid Holiday, surrounded by the ones you love, I know I did! May your weekend be filled with laughter, love, and leftovers!

This week has been a random week for me, musically. Here are some of this week's earworms.

Songs:
"Human Nature" Michael Jackson
"The Morning After Dark" Timbaland ft. Nelly Furtado & ShoShy
"What I Got" Sublime (they're growing on me....kind of like this crush!)

Side note: I don't know where the whole Photo Finish Friday thing began, but I don't want to take credit for the idea. I got the idea off of one of my favorite blogs, Vodka Logic's Photo Phinish Phriday.
