I wake up early to no alarm

a kiss on the forehead and a familiar smile welcomes me

Morning creeps through the windows

and bounces off the fabric with shades of deep pink

the room is filled with rosy light

Flecks of gold in a chestnut gaze

Our eyes meet and I am lost.

Our lips meet and I am home.
